Christmas Parade
The Gordo Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Christmas Parade the first Saturday in December. The parade features marching bands and floats. Three prizes are given for the three best floats in the parade.
The Lighting of the Gordo Christmas Tree is also held in conjuction with the parade. The dedication of the "Lights of Joy" will be held during this event.
2009
The Gordo Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade was held Friday, December 4, begining at 6:00 pm with pictures with Santa, 6:30 pm lightening of the Community Christmas Tree and 7:00 pm, the Parade. The parade featured marching bands, floats and characters. Three prizes were given for the three best floats in the parade. First Place: New Hope United Methodist Church; 2nd place, State Farm Insurance and 3rd place, Pickens County Medical Center.
