Treats on the Street
Treats on the Street is held on Main Street in downtown Gordo on or around Halloween.
People bring their decorated cars and hand out candy and treats.
They may also set up a table on the sidewalk for the same purpose.
There is a prize for best decorated car and a costume contest with prizes for different age groups.
This event lets young citizens of Gordo "Trick or Treat" in a safe, supervised environment.
Treats on the Streen provides lots of fun and fellowship.
This event is sponsored by the Gordo Chamber, Area Churches, and Local Businesses.
2009
Treats on the Street was held in downtown Gordo, October 30. Bad weather had threatened all day but the afternoon turned sunny. About 20 vehciles were on hand, with their trunks decorated, to hand out candy to children. Over 60 people were in the judging for the costume contest. This event is made possible by area Churches and local businesses.
Winners were Cooper Falls. ages 0-1, Raggady Andy; Anna Belle Beck, ages 2-4, Pig; Nathan Reece, ages 5-8, Sponge Bob; Branden Clark, ages 9-12, DVD Charlottes' Web; Susan Perrigin, Adult, Jail bird; Randy & Sherry Dillard, Adult group, Captain Hook & Tinkerbelle and New Life Worship Center, best decorated car.

2010 Treats on the Streets
Treats on the Streets was held Oct. 29 on Main Street. Approximately 1200 people attended the event. Fourteen automoblies were judged for the Best Decorated Trunk contest. Nan Sumners of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church won the award for Jack's Fishin' Hole. Over 100 children entered the costume contest. Winners, ages 0-1; winner, Konner Pugh; 1st runner-up Jabrayla Davis; 2nd runner-up, Heidi Porter; 3rd runner-up, Josiah Allen; and 4th runner-up, Jay Sullivan. Winners for ages 2 - 4; winner, Brandon Smith, Anna Taylor Kelly, Regan Morrison, Kaitlyn Reece and Sadie Rae Wallace;1st runner-up, Hallie Hudson; 2nd runner-up, Anna Belle Beck; 3rd runner-up, Camryn O'Bryant; 4th runner-up, Jay Sullivan. Ages 5 - 8; Winner, Mallory Hardy, 1st runner-up, Jennifer Lor, 2nd runner-up, Camilla Jo Mullinex, 3rd runner-up, Sawyer Perrigan, 4th runner-up, Patelyn Martin.
